Situated centrally in downtown Durham, it provides unparalleled accessibility and visibility to a diverse audience. Its proximity to a childcare center not only enhances convenience for parents and families but also fosters a sense of community integration. The building offers exceptional signage and branding opportunities, making it a prime location for businesses. Moreover, as the future home of Uniting People, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to youth development, the space will serve as a community hub, promoting collaboration, education, and empowerment. Why the building needs us:
The building we are seeking to occupy is a 2,766 sq ft building located at East Queen Street, Durham, NC
The building’s strategic downtown Durham location, adjacent to a childcare center, offers unparalleled accessibility and visibility, making it a prime spot for businesses seeking a strong presence. Beyond its branding opportunities, the space will house Uniting People, 501(c)(3), enhancing its significance as a community hub.
With a focus on youth development, this organization will utilize the building to foster collaboration, education, and empowerment, creating a vibrant space for positive change. Additionally, media equipment for podcasting and photography studios will be accessible to the community, fostering creativity and expression.
The building will also offer the option to provide space to the public and provide co-working spaces, further promoting community engagement and collaboration. By combining business opportunities, youth development initiatives, creative resources, and coworking spaces, the building becomes a multifaceted hub for innovation, growth, and community connectivity.
What Programs will be offered?
The diverse range of programs offered not only enhances youth development but also strengthens the community fabric of Durham. Through initiatives like the Entrepreneurs Academy and Leading In Tech, youth are equipped with essential skills and knowledge, preparing them for future career success in a rapidly evolving world. The Wellness Initiative focuses on mental well-being, nurturing resilience and positive coping mechanisms among young individuals. Academic Enrichment programs provide academic support and foster a love for learning, ensuring educational success. Additionally, the Sunday Dinner program exemplifies community support by providing meals to the less fortunate, fostering empathy and solidarity within Durham. Wellness Initiative
Prioritize the mental well-being of our youth. This initiative focuses on providing resources, support, and education to address the unique challenges faced by young people. Through workshops, counseling, and peer support groups, we empower youth with coping mechanisms, resilience, and a positive outlook on life.
Entrepreneurs Academy
Inspire young minds with entrepreneurial spirit. Our summer and year-round programs provide a platform for youth to develop their business acumen. Guided by local business owners, they learn essential skills, explore market opportunities, and cultivate the mindset necessary to launch successful ventures.
Academic Enrichment
Provide academic support and enrichment for students from elementary through high school. Our tutoring and after-school programs offer personalized guidance, homework assistance, and engaging activities designed to enhance their academic performance and foster a love of learning.
Sunday Dinner
This program aimed at assisting the community’s less fortunate and homeless individuals, allowing people to contribute to a general fund. The primary purpose of this fund is to provide food from local restaurants to those who are living on the streets of our communities.
Leading In Tech
Empower youth with cutting-edge skills in tech through our immersive summer and year-round programs. Explore web design and development, photography, videography, sound and lighting, as well as coding and software development. Nurture their creativity and prepare them for a thriving career in the tech industry.
